How Do I Try Out For A Team?

What is the cost to play?
The dues for for the entire season are usually between $1,900 and $2,900 for all ages (10U-18U) depending on the interest at the time of tryouts. The cost of uniforms is NOT included in the overall cost. We do offer a monthly payment plan with the first installment of $1000 to be due the night of signing (usually the Sunday after tryouts). Uniforms are also required to be purchased on the night of signing. We have sponsor forms available. Potential additional costs are:
- Uniforms =$230 (includes 2 jerseys, 2 spandex, a hoodie, and a back pack)
- Carolina Region/USAV Membership (approximately $55)
- AAU Membership (around $22)
- Referee clinic (usually around $10)
- Travel to and from tournaments
- Food
- Hotel rooms for the 2-day and 3-day tournaments
What age group will my daughter play?
We place players according to the Carolina Regional age outline. Players must be the age of the team in which they are placed on or after September 1st. We may choose to move players up in age groups depending upon skill set and the need we have to fill a team's roster. Please refer to the age definition chart to see where your daughter will play.
Where do you travel?
Generally, you will travel within North Carolina or to neighboring states to participate in 2 day and 3 day tournaments. This may include but are not limited to Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia.
How do you pick teams?
We pick teams based on players' performance at tryouts. Coaches all get together and help select players for each team. If you are not at a try out, you cannot be placed on a team.

When and where are practices?
All practices from August through October are held once a week on Wednesdays from 7-9pm
All practices from November through April are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9pm.
***There are usually 2-4 practices during Christmas Break due to the start date of our first tournament.***
When and where are tournaments?
Tournament dates differ from team to team. 2 day and 3 day tournaments are predetermined by the coaches and club directors prior to the beginning of the season. Each tournament director releases the playing schedule and the spectator cost for the tournament no more than 2-4 days prior to the tournament.
What equipment does a player need?
We strongly suggest all players wear knee pads, and encourage ankle braces as they get older (especially front row players and setters). Players also need good court shoes, and appropriate work out clothing.
